Based in and around the East Midlands/Leicester/Northampton/Peterborough region, you will be covering a defined region of the UK. So, what will you be doing? As a Waste Water Adoptions Site Inspector/Engineer, you will be responsible for liaising with developers to ensure that they install the adoptable waste water infrastructure to an acceptable standard. You will spend significant time out in the field, visiting developers to inspect and survey drains and sewers as they are laid, taking responsibility for and ensuring that the pipes are laid according to approved plans, identifying any defects, and ensuring they are rectified. With a positive and flexible approach to supporting team colleagues, you will be able to priorities your own workload, delivery excellent customer services at all time. What will I be responsible for? In a nutshell, you will be producing inspection reports and identifying any remedial works required relating to the adoption of the new drainage assets from the developer by Advanced Water Infrastructure Networks (AWIN). Not only this, you will also: Provide support to the Head of Waste Water on all regional waste water adoption enquiries. Assist in budget planning and forecasting for all waste water adoption activities Leading on new assets handover, ensuring all relevant records, agreements and contracts are in place. Carry out pre-maintenance inspections, provide snagging lists and carry out final inspections prior to final adoption. To attend air / water tests on new sewer installations ensuring that they all pass. To advise on engineering solutions with the developers when any complicated installations arise. Liaise closely with ground workers and site agents. To risk assess all situations on site so as not to compromise Health & Safety. Assess new and innovative materials / ideas and implement and offer as a solution on site providing it does not compromise our position. Develop policies and processes for adoption and ongoing maintenance of sites. The person You will have experience of working in the water industry (in particular waste water) with a good understanding of the S104 Adoption process. Regulatory knowledge and standards applicable to the business and the processes required to be compliant with them. You will also: Have the ability to work on your own initiative, with a good attention to detail Be adaptability and have an eagerness to learn. Good computer and reporting skills Full UK driving licence.
