About this opportunity
Crown has launched a new opportunity for a Human Resources Officer to join our beverage-can manufacturing plant in Peterborough, UK. The position will report to the HR Manager.
The Peterborough factory is brand-new, and it’s filled with state-of-the-art technologies capable of producing up to 3 billion cans per annum. The plant operates 24-hours per day on a continuous shift system, 360 days per year and employs approximately 200 people.
The purpose of the HR Officer role is to support operations on site and administration of payroll, recruitment, development, and retention of employees.
You will develop and apply all local and group HR policies, providing support to the department as well as acting as one of the key points of contact for site communication. Ensuring that verbal and formal communication is professional, clear, and effective is highly important both internally and externally.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver excellent HR administration services and drive processes that ensure compliance and accuracy, showing strong attention to detail.
2. Ensure compliance from an internal audit perspective around SOX Controls.
3. Support, advise and coach Managers with regards to employee relations, employment law, best practice, and internal policies, processes, and procedures.
4. Provide support to Managers on managing HR issues.
5. Advise and partner with line managers to support grievance and disciplinary matters.
6. Assist with recruitment, interviews, and the starter/leaver process, including all of the administration around those activities in our HR system, SuccessFactors.
7. Collect data for monthly payroll, and submit to payroll.
8. Prepare and submit monthly reports, analyzing trends in data and drive the use of data to inform decisions.
9. Contribute to the continued development of a culture in which employees feel involved, committed, and valued.
10. Assist with the brand awareness activities in the local communities by attending career events at schools and local job fairs as required.
11. Assist HR Manager with projects as required.
Required Knowledge and Experience
1. An HR generalist, with strong administrative skills.
2. Previous experience of 3 to 4 years in a similar role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
3. Demonstrable record of working effectively in HR administration, payroll, and recruitment, ensuring an optimal candidate experience.
4. Previous experience in providing guidance to the team regarding HR administration processes and systems (SAP SuccessFactors experience would be an advantage).
5. CIPD level 3 or above would be beneficial.
