Civil/Structural Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines)
POWER Engineers is currently seeking an entry level Civil/Structural Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Overhead Line Department in Trussville, Alabama. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. The successful candidate may also perform basic engineering calculations as it pertains to distribution design.
Required Education/Experience:
1. BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) or related degree from an accredited university.
2. The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
3. Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
Desired Education/Experience:
4. Minimum of a 2.75 GPA.
5. Ideal coursework includes: structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying.
6. Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering, is desirable.
7. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is desired.
