WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will demonstrate your technical knowledge in the field, and work towards implementing practical and effective solutions for clients. Your role will involve conducting field assessments, collecting noise data, and supporting Project Leads in data interpretation and analysis and the preparation of reports.
Job Duties:
1. Complete site inspections; identify and collect data from air and noise emission points.
2. Apply mathematical acoustics concepts including sound wave propagation, frequency analysis and sound level data interpretation.
3. Post-process and analyze measurements using software modules and other tools.
4. Conduct noise propagation modelling using specialized acoustical software.
5. Preparation of Acoustic Assessment reports for ECA Applications and EASR Registrations.
6. Prepare Noise Impact/Feasibility Studies for the purpose of land use planning applications.
7. Outline specific actions that may be required based on supporting guidelines related to noise and vibration criteria.
8. Assist with the design of noise emission controls.
9. Write technical documents including spreadsheet calculation methods and SOPs.
10. Adhere to health and safety protocols for self and support staff, if applicable.
11. Field work in all seasons; travel and overtime may be required.
12. Working at heights, ability to climb ladders and carry equipment in potential rough terrain required.

Job Requirements:
1. Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering discipline.
2. General understanding of fundamental acoustics concepts, including sound wave propagation, frequency analysis, and sound level measurement.
3. Awareness of applicable regulations and guidelines associated with noise emissions assessments.
4. Superior written communication skills are essential.
5. Ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical communication (reading, writing and oral) in English.
6. Works well independently as well as a part of a team.
7. Knowledge of CadnaA, and STAMSON.
8. Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
9. Willingness for occasional travel within Canada.
