Principal CAMHS Clinical Psychologist Hounslow (
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative CAMHS psychologist to join the Child and Family Team in Hounslow CAMHS. The role offers the chance to combine clinical work within a friendly multidisciplinary team with supporting the Consultant Clinical Psychologist with leadership and supervision within the team and Hounslow CAMHS.
CAMHS has been under pressure, and particularly over the past few years as children, young people and families have been impacted by Covid-19. As a CAMHS management team we have expanded our service with the aim of meeting the needs of children, young people and families as well as maintaining our commitments to staff wellbeing, manageable job plans and giving staff the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge further whilst in role. We hope that the successful candidate would join us in this vision for CAMHS and its staff.
Main duties of the job

Qualifications
Essential
1. Doctoral level training in clinical / counselling psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
2. Professional registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
3. Post-qualification training in supervision / specialist application of formal therapy models.
Desirable
4. Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
5. Training in CBT

Essential
6. Substantial experience working as a qualified clinical psychologist, including experience working at highly specialist level.
7. Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity and across the age range of 0-18, including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
8. Experience of assessment and intervention with individuals with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
9. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
10. Experience of teaching and training.
11. Experience of multi-agency working.
12. Significant experience of delivering professional, clinical and management supervision to psychologists.
13. Experience of and commitment to service development.
