Nano Fire is a leading Fibre Installation business dedicated to providing exceptional service. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of UK payroll legislation and a strong background in managing payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for circa 400 employees across various locations.
2. Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including tax, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments.
3. Manage payroll systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
4. Liaise with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data.
5. Review and process statutory payments, including sick pay, maternity/paternity leave, and pensions.
6. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of payroll-related costs in the company's financial system.
7. Prepare and submit PAYE and RTI (Real Time Information) filings to HMRC.
8. Address and resolve any payroll-related queries from employees in a timely manner.
9. Provide training and guidance to junior payroll staff, ensuring team development.
10. Conduct payroll audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
11. Stay updated on any changes to payroll legislation and implement necessary changes in payroll systems.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role, with in-depth knowledge of UK payroll systems and processes.
2. Strong understanding of UK tax laws, National Insurance contributions, pensions, and other statutory payroll requirements.
3. Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar).
4. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to employees.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
7. AAT or CIPP qualified (or equivalent qualification) is highly desirable.
8. Knowledge of auto-enrolment pension schemes and other employee benefits.
