Your Impact As a Test Engineer, you will team up with a multi-functional team of Engineers designing and maintaining class leading Condition Based Monitoring Systems and products for electrical utilities and industrial customers. This role will validate and test Hardware, Firmware and Software products for all assigned projects for various Qualitrol products globally. There is a specific focus on the integration testing, validation and compliance of multi-functional products and in the automation of the product testing process. Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies: • Experience in an engineering / test lab environment on full product lifecycle development testing • Create test procedures and maintain all test documentation throughout the design lifecycle • Develop and lead the test automation strategy and generate scripts to perform automated testing cycles for NPI engineering • Drive the validation of hardware platforms consisting of micro-computer-based systems with Analogue / Digital IOs. • Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, smoke, regression, compliance, and performance testing. • Working in an agile scrum environment • Support the development and training of the test automation team Skills & Experience The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar. • Strong background in product testing throughout the design lifecycle • Workshop and lab experience including making test equipment / jigs / testing setups • Basic understanding of electrical installation, wiring, and systems • Basic programming / scripting skills in Linux and/or Windows software development platforms in common languages such as C#, Java script etc. • Database skills, mainly in SQL Server. • Knowledge and experience using software automated testing tools such a XRAY and Jira • IP networking and networking protocols • Understanding and exposure to industrial communication protocols like IEC 61850, DNP 3.0, MODBUS etc is preferred. • Familiarity with protocol testing tools like IEC Browser, IED Scout, Modbus Poll, etc. • Experience in fault location, fault recording and/or power quality is desirable About Us QUALITROL manufactures monitoring and protection devices for high value electrical assets and OEM manufacturing companies.
