Make a difference with St John Ambulance and become a lifesaver in your community. Gain new skills, support others, and be the hero your community needs!
At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities, and want to make a difference by sharing their first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events and provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.
Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community, and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.
We will ensure you have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles is included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.
The interview date is 15th February 2025, and the individual needs to be able to attend this date for a face-to-face meeting.
The individual needs to be able to attend 2 meeting nights on a Monday between 8 PM-9:30 PM at least per month at Erith Adults Division to keep their skills up at the unit level once they have completed their course. They need to be able to undertake online learning before the course and support their local community at events requiring St John Ambulance attendance. They need to understand the St John HEART values and be a community advocate when out at events, demonstrating this within their first few induction weeks.
The training course begins on 29/03/2025, with the second day being completed on 12/04/2025, and the individual needs to be able to attend both dates.
Closing date for these opportunities is: 30th January 2025.
