The Governors of Catshill Middle School and Catshill First School & Nursery are seeking to recruit a dynamic School Business Manager to work across our two schools. The schools are part of The Spire Learning Trust and the new SBM will be part of a team of Business Managers working alongside the CFO and COO. About the role: As the School Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the school’s financial, administrative, and operational functions. You will oversee financial management, budgeting, resource allocation, HR support, and compliance, ensuring the school remains a safe, effective, and high-performing environment for both students and staff. Key Responsibilities: ● Financial Management – Prepare, monitor, and report on the school budget. ● Human Resources – Oversee recruitment, staff payroll, and personnel administration. ● Operations – Manage school premises, facilities, and health & safety requirements. ● Compliance – Ensure compliance with government regulations, policies, and procedures. ● Strategic Support – Work with the Headteacher and Governors to support school development plans. What We Are Looking For: ● Proven experience in school business management or a similar administrative/finance role. ● Strong financial management and budgeting skills. ● Excellent organisational and communication abilities. ● Experience working with educational software and systems. ● Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and staff. ● A proactive approach and a commitment to the success of the school community.
