Education Solicitor – Join a Top-Tier Practice
Are you an experienced education lawyer looking for your next challenge?
I'm working with a highly ranked, Legal 500-recognised firm with a Tier 1 education practice, looking to expand their regulatory compliance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of a thriving and dynamic area of law, working with some of the country’s leading education providers.
My client is a full-service UK law firm with a reputation for excellence in the education sector. Despite their size, they’ve maintained a close-knit and supportive culture where collaboration, authenticity, and integrity are at the core of everything they do. They take pride in the character of their people - valuing proactive, passionate professionals who bring expertise, energy, and a good sense of humour.
The specialist regulatory compliance team advises education providers on navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks. With legal and political developments constantly shaping the sector, the work is varied, fast-paced, and intellectually stimulating. Clients turn to them for their deep sector knowledge, practical approach, and consistently high service standards.
As part of this Tier 1-ranked team, you’ll have the chance to work on high-profile matters that truly make a difference. From advising on regulatory compliance to managing complex legal challenges, you’ll be part of a respected and growing practice that plays a key role in the firm’s success.
I'm looking to speak with an education lawyer with strong experience advising independent schools on student, parent, and regulatory matters. Ideally, you’ll have expertise across both contentious and non-contentious work, with a solid understanding of the unique challenges faced by independent schools, school groups, and governing bodies.
Your role will involve working closely with independent school practice leads, supervising team members, and contributing to the strategic direction of our work in this evolving sector. You’ll advise on a broad range of issues, including admissions and exclusions (including appeals), student behaviour and disciplinary matters, safeguarding, SEN and equality law, complaints and claims (including tribunal work), and school inspections.
You’ll also play a key role in critical incident management and reputation protection - both of which are increasingly important for independent schools. Experience handling fee disputes, parental complaints, and safeguarding concerns unique to the sector would be a strong advantage. Above all, someone who can manage sensitive issues with discretion and efficiency while helping schools protect their reputations.
With ongoing political and regulatory changes shaping the education landscape, this is a rare opportunity to guide independent schools through a period of transformation and make a meaningful impact.
The firm offers a hybrid working model that balances flexibility with in-person collaboration. While remote work is an option, spending time in the office is encouraged to experience the friendly, engaging culture and foster strong working relationships. (Happy to discuss arrangements that work for you).
