Here is an insight to the Pensions Dashboard Programme: Pensions dashboards will enable people to access key information about all of their UK pensions, private and State, in one place online, revolutionising how people engage with their pensions throughout their lives. Enabling the delivery of pensions dashboards will require up to 52m adults in the UK to be connected with up to around 43,000 pension providers and schemes to search for their pensions. Development work by industry has already taken place, as a concept. The goal is now to turn it into a delivery solution for the benefit of UK citizens. MaPS has created a Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) which will be responsible for delivering the digital architecture and governance framework that will allow multiple parties to be connected as part of the pension’s dashboards ecosystem. This hugely significant development has the potential to improve the financial wellbeing of millions of people. The programme is comprised of an Industry Steering Group and a supporting Programme team within MaPS. The Programme is working in close partnership with DWP, TPR and FCA who all have related delivery responsibilities. Industry has had, and will continue to have, a crucial role to play in designing and developing the necessary components to make pensions dashboards possible. The Project Manager will report directly to Lead Programme Manager. In this role you will be responsible for the following; Project Management – Day to day management and leadership of the project and the virtual project team. Provide effective leadership and implement project management controls. Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to stage. Set appropriate delivery methodologies. Planning - Develop and maintain the Project Plan and integrate with other inter-dependent projects. Delivery – Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints. Budget – Work with the MaPS Finance team to manage the agreed budget. Resources – Identify skill requirements; and deploy and develop resources. Manage medium sized team Commercial management – Work with commercial professionals to negotiate and finalise contracts and manage delivery within contractual arrangements Benefits Realisation – Define the expected benefits, working with the policy team and other stakeholders, and establish the methods for monitoring them. Stakeholder Management – Identify and manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally, Communications – Work closely with the programme engagement team to ensure alignment of approach and messaging across multiple channels including social media. Risk & Issue Management – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies. Governance – Support effective governance and decision making. Provide reporting and engage in mechanisms that hold you, as Project Manager, to account for delivery. Assurance – Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations. Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders. Guidance & Support – Provide support, guidance and coaching for the project team. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance. Business Case – Support the development of Business Cases, with input from specialists as necessary. You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;This is a high profile project with ministerial and departmental interest. There will be significant industry interest via social media channels. The role requires strong leadership and management skills coupled with strong project management skills to ensure the integrity of the programme.The post holder will need to develop and maintain robust relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including the pensions industry, regulatory bodies, departmental officials and third party suppliers.It is expected that candidates will have a minimum of eight years’ experience of successfully delivering projects and/pr programme strands to time, cost and quality standards.More specifically: Qualified PPM Professional: Project/Programme management qualification (PRINCE2, MSP etc) Knowledge and understanding of agile project delivery methodologies Experience of successfully managing programmes or projects or experience of having been in a work stream strand lead role within a programme or project. Day to day management and leadership of the project team Experience across the full range of project management services, including change control, risk, issue and dependency management, planning and reporting. Experience of working effectively with wide range of stakeholders across other government departments, directorate/business group lines. Ability to provide direction on development to team and across project delivery profession. Experience of securing resources and directing planning scheduling, resourcing and estimation for complex projects and programmes. Experience of monitoring longer term delivery of benefits against business case and ensuring appropriate benefits realisation strategy is in place. Ability to understand policy and align change delivery, cascading vision and driving delivery objectives through your team.
