Assistant Clinical Renal Research Practitioner

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a strong work ethic to join the Renal Research Team.
This post requires the candidate to have certification in venepuncture. Experience in a patient-facing role, further clinical skills, and laboratory skills are also an advantage. The candidate must be familiar with Microsoft applications and working with large amounts of information on databases.
The post holder will be expected to work under the support and guidance of the multidisciplinary research team.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be able to use a range of Microsoft Office applications, demonstrate competency in clinical skills, and manage their own time. Organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
The post holder must have significant experience in venepuncture. Further clinical skills and a knowledge, understanding, and experience of the clinical research process, including ICH-GCP and research governance, are an advantage. The post requires flexibility and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Some early morning and evening work may be required.
The post will involve liaison with all grades of staff in a multi-disciplinary department; therefore, the ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with a broad range of people is important.
The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with the multi-professional teams within the specialty. They will also ensure good communication between all service providers and actively participate in local and national networking groups to develop their knowledge in the specialty.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Research Practitioners (CRPs) are crucial to delivering clinical research that is transforming treatment in the NHS and the care we receive.
CRPs bring a wealth of research knowledge and expertise to research delivery teams, working alongside nurses and others to deliver safe, ethical, and high-quality clinical research care.
The post-holder will be responsible for supporting studies from setup through to the completion of the follow-up phase and for overseeing and/or managing single-site studies as required.
To support current research staff in ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of the data in order to meet standards expected for reporting to regulatory bodies by organizing and managing study days.
To provide clinical support and supervision to patients in clinical trials such as taking informed consent, taking samples, performing tests and physical measurements, and preparing and maintaining study documentation in accordance with the clinical trial protocol and Good Clinical Practice.

Person Specification
Training and Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 GCSE or Equivalent.
* Working in a cardiac setting.
Skills
* Able to perform ECGs, phlebotomy, and record other clinical data. Conduct participant education sessions and provide instructions.
* Knowledge of Research.
Experience
* Significant experience at an NHS band 3, or equivalent, in clinical research. Knowledge, understanding, and experience of the clinical research process, including ICH, GCP, and research governance.
* GCP/Consent training.
