JOB PURPOSE:
The Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Manager for Apprenticeships and Adult Education is responsible for overseeing the quality and compliance of training programmes across various disciplines. This role involves ensuring that teaching and assessment processes meet regulatory standards, supporting continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence within the training delivery team. You will also carry a caseload of your own Management apprentices to IQA.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
3. A recognised qualification in quality assurance (e.g., TAQA, IQA Level 4, V1).
4. Significant experience in quality assurance within the education sector, specifically in apprenticeships and adult education.
5. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for apprenticeship and adult education programs.
6. Proven track record of managing quality assurance processes and leading a team.
7. Excellent organisational and project management skills.
8. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
10. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
12. Experience with e-portfolios.
Desirable:
13. Teaching or training qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 3 Award in Education and Training).
14. Experience with digital learning platforms.
15. Strong understanding of learner needs and the ability to develop strategies to support diverse learning experiences.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
16. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Develop and implement comprehensive internal quality assurance policies and procedures.Monitor and evaluate the delivery of apprenticeship and adult education programs to ensure they meet the requirements of awarding bodies and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofsted, ESFA).Conduct regular audits of learner portfolios, training sessions, and assessments to ensure consistency and high standards.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines.Maintain up to date knowledge of awarding and end point assessment organisation changes and updates, and to work with the Head of Apprenticeships to recommend changes and communicate these to the team.
17. Assessment and Verification: Oversee the internal verification and moderation processes to ensure fair, accurate, and reliable assessment outcomes.Manage and support a team of internal verifiers, ensuring their continued professional development and adherence to IQA policies.Coordinate external quality assurance visits and audits, addressing any actions or recommendations promptly.Act as the subject matter expert for Onefile to ensure that effective use is made of the system.
18. Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to assessors, trainers, and staff on quality assurance processes and best practices.Identify areas for staff development and coordinate appropriate training to enhance delivery quality.Promote continuous improvement by leading initiatives to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment quality.
19. Data Management and Reporting: Develop and maintain robust systems for tracking learner progress, assessment outcomes, and quality assurance activities.Produce regular reports on quality assurance findings, highlighting areas of strength and identifying opportunities for improvement.Utilise data to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes related to program delivery and quality assurance.
20. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders including awarding and end point assessment organisations, employers, and learners to ensure high-quality training provision.Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners to foster positive relationships and effective communication.Represent the organisation at quality assurance meetings, forums, and events, championing best practices in education and training.
