We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our Specialist SEN Hub, managed by Wakefield Council. Our hub provides a highly supportive setting for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional complex needs, ensuring they receive the personalised care and education they deserve. About the Role: As an LSA, you will: Support students with EHCPs (Educational Health Care Plans) who have ASD and additional SEND needs Work in busy classrooms, providing hands-on support in a structured setting Assist with personal care and feeding as part of the daily routine Help create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual learning and care plans What we’re looking for? Have experience, or a passion for working with students with additional needs, especially Autism. Have knowledge or understanding of how to support children with SEN and SEMH Be flexible, proactive and patient Be nurturing in their approach and interventions Be able to communicate effectively within a team Have a background in Education, Care, Social work, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.
