Hays are delighted to be working with a Landmark Infrastructure Client who are seeking to employ a Quantity Surveyor directly to join their internalmercial team.
Thispany announced a development program valued at £100m last year and as such are seeking to enhance the existing engineering and projects team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor to assist with the implementation of this capital program.
Your new role
Your new role will see you primarily be responsible for assisting the Engineering team to deliver a wide range of capital and maintenance projects with a focus on budgetary control and management. You will also work closely with the finance team to develop and monitor both operational and capital budgets and spend.
The successful candidate will play a key role in thepany’s future, reporting to the Director of Projects & Engineering, supporting the planning and execution of strategically important projects within a live operational environment.
This role is contracted at hours per week, with working hours being 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have 5+ years’ experience in a QS position, have a solid knowledge ofpliance & regulatory standards, have experience of all aspects of cost control in construction projects, and display experience with managing contractors/consultants and managing and allocating budgets.
It is also extremely desirable that you can display an ability to problem solve, deliver results, plan & maintain direction, work as part of a team, be customer focussed,municate effectively and manage finance/budgets.
