Main duties of the job
Assess prescriptions against legalrequirements and the appropriateness of treatment with individual medicines,taking into account the condition being treated, concomitant conditions andother medicines and results of laboratory tests as available.
Theability to work in a busy environment, in a dispensary or at times on the wardswith frequent interruptions.
Accuratelyassembling and labelling dispensed medicines in accordance with legalrequirements and SOPs.
Takingresponsibility for confirmation of identity of dispensed medicines inaccordance with prescribers' instructions and national recommendations onsupplementary labelling.
Effectivelycommunicating with medical and nursing staff to solve problems in the bestinterests of patients and providing information to practitioners to ensureadministration of medicines is appropriate to the clinical needs of thepatient.

Essential
1. Masters Degree in Pharmacy plus successful completion of pre-registration training year (or earlier equivalent.).
2. Member of General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Desirable
3. Prescribing Qualification.
