Job Title Surveyor - Office Leasing Job Description Summary Job Description Surveyor – Office Leasing Location – Edinburgh We have a great opportunity for a Surveyor to join our Office Leasing team here in the heart of Edinburgh. This role will see you working across the whole of the Scottish market, not limited to Office agency but also gaining invaluable experience and exposure across development and potentially Industrial. The position is a hands on and client centric role, you would form part of a four-person team in providing office leasing and development advice to a wide range of clients across Scotland. The role would be broadly split into three categories: 1. Supporting Partners and Associate Partner on large scale development projects and pitches 2. Key client facing role on smaller projects, the candidate would be expected to support the team and where appropriate run these projects in the near future 3. Ensure team systems and protocols are being delivered to the appropriate level with the support of the team admin Role Purpose: • To provide excellent professional advice and service to clients in support of instructions managed by senior members of the team • To learn and to evolve skills, taking on increasingly complex roles • Contribute to team fee billing and profit targets Key Responsibilities: • Support the team plan to develop a client portfolio • Support Associate Directors and Directors by contributing to client presentations, bids and pitches • Identify key technical issues/ problems in transactions and offers appropriate solutions • Provide input to support delivery of client assignments, i.e. prepare and process technical information • Work collaboratively to generate new instructions and pool expertise within the team • Proactively look for and identify new business and revenue opportunities with new and existing clients • Manage and liaise with internal teams and external consultants to provide a full service to the client Knowledge & Experience: • General practice background for either a corporate or private practice, preference for experience in a transactional or client facing role • Experience of working in a commercial surveying practice and/or corporate environment could be advantageous • Knowledge and experience in the office and industrial markets would be helpful • An appreciation of business development and client relationship management • Experience in networking and building relationships internally and externally • A level of experience selling successfully to clients • Knowledge of the real estate industry sector • Business and report writing experience • IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet) • IT industry specific packages (i.e. Circle, Developer, Grail, etc) helpful Qualifications: Preference for RICS qualified candidate but not critical if they have the appropriate levels of experience.
