* Location: Remote/ 1-2 days on-site per month at Devonport, Plymouth
The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a world-leading nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard.
Job Overview:
Our client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support ship and submarine sustainment programmes. Your primary focus will be to manage the delivery of mechanical engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage one or more technical design packages, agreeing project-related objectives, managing designer performance, and providing Subject Matter Expert advice as per discipline.
* Ensure that processes and activities are appropriately documented, with records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
* Ensure that design documentation meets the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
* Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project's technical planning process.
* Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements, operating and delivering through compliance with Babcock's Business Management System and Technical Manual.
What You Need to Succeed:
* Good mechanical services knowledge, particularly in the design and build of process piping and treatment systems.
* Experience in line managing designers.
* Experience working in a 3D BIM environment.
* Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge preferred.
* Alternatively, experience in other safety-critical plant/process design would be considered.
