A top main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with expertise in M&E packages to join their Commercial Team for a £450m Network Rail Station Upgrade in London.
The successful candidate will oversee a major station upgrade that aligns with delivering multi-discipline solutions to the rail network on behalf of Network Rail. Due to a recent contract award, our client is looking to build in a specialist M&E Quantity Surveyor to manage a portfolio of electrical, signaling, telecoms, and power packages, working in alignment with the wider organization and commercial team delivering the civil engineering packages.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with M&E experience to take a step up to a Senior QS Role or for a Senior QS to take on a new challenge and join a major main contractor on a prestigious project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting into the Commercial Manager, key duties will include:
1. Presentation of all applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements.
2. Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms.
3. Submission of estimate/tendering information to the client.
4. Presentation of Final Accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements.
5. Presentation of weekly cost/value information, delivery schedules, and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.
6. Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
7. Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.
8. Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.
9. Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims, etc.
10. Commercial support to the site and contracts management team as well as estimating and procurement.
11. Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Formal qualification in a relevant field - HNC/HND or Degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management).
2. Experience with M&E packages is essential; prior experience in the rail sector is not required as training will be provided. Experience within civil engineering, construction, or facilities management will be considered.
3. Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within a contracting environment.
