We are looking to recruit for a Deputy Shift Supervisor to assist the Shift Supervisor with the on-going activities of the production shift, including all aspects of production, health, and safety, reporting and personnel.
Duties:
To assist supervisor with the on-going activities of the production shift, including all aspects of production, health, and safety, reporting and personnel.
Assisting Supervisor with develop a culture that demands the highest levels of health and safety standards for both your own shift and any, and all, visitors to the plant whilst your shift is on duty.
To assist meeting production targets set down by your manager and develop a work routine that achieves this in a safe and timely manner.
Maintain high standards of plant cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
Assist, understand and upkeep computer transactions.
Fully liaise with other shifts and peer groups to keep communication lines open and working to a maximum.
Responsibility for shift including personnel in line with Supervisors expectations.
Cover holidays and sickness within your own shift whilst still meeting production targets.
Ensure correct PPE is always worn by anyone entering the production areas.
Responsibility for plant cleanliness and tidiness
Second line responsibility for discipline
Ensure all shift personnel receive the correct training and supervision.
Assist meeting production targets for shift.
Properly take ownership alongside manager for handover each shift
Communicate information to your shift manager.
Report all breakdowns and, where appropriate, fix minor breakdowns.
Participate in H&S committee when meetings/inspections fall on your shift.
Complete shift production log
Knowledge:
Background in production / manufacturing
Previous supervision pr team leader experience
Competence in running a production line or unit.
Ability to communicate well, written and verbal, at all levels.
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database functionality.
Strong proven people management skills.
Assisting managing personnel resource to meet production demands.
Help maintain the standards for ISO9001/14001/18001 by conforming to all regulations and procedural aspects required.
Shifts
3 weeks rolling shift.
6.00 - 14.00
14.00-22.00
22.00-6.00
4 weekends a year.
Shift allowance is involved and over time paid 1.5 Saturdays and double time Sundays.
Week over time is at 1.5.
Salary is made up of basic salary plus shift allowance which depends on shift worked circa 33K
