TRG are working in partnership with a company who specialise in high-value, technically advanced CNC milling and turning applications. They serve a diverse range of industries, including Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Oil and Gas, and more. With a strong commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality, and reliable service, the client maintains a customer-focused approach, ensuring that no challenge is too great to overcome. They are looking for a skilled machinist to join their friendly team who can add value to their machine shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC milling (Heidenhain) to produce high-quality parts based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Offline and online programming
4 axis milling
Write and modify CNC programs - Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for machining operations.
Conduct regular quality checks during machining, ensuring that all parts meet the required tolerances and specifications. Use measuring tools such as micrometers, callipers, and gauges to inspect finished products.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot any issues with machine functions or program errors and make necessary adjustments.
Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Follow all health and safety guidelines in the workshop, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Record machine usage, tool wear, and any issues that arise during production. Complete necessary paperwork for job tracking and reporting.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a CNC Miller, experience with Heidenhain controls is imperative
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Solid understanding of machining techniques, tools, and materials.
Proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Knowledge of quality control procedures and the use of measuring instruments.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
A proactive and adaptable attitude with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills:
Technically minded machinist with at least 10 years experience in CNC milling
Experience with multi-axis CNC milling machines.
Familiarity with other control systems, though Heidenhain is the primary focus.
Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment.
Knowledge of Mastercam
Knowledge of Fanuc controls and Mill+
