About the role: Politics & Citizenship Teacher The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in A Level Politics and GCSE Citizenship. This role offers an exciting opportunity for both experienced teachers and early career teachers passionate about politics and citizenship. You will inspire students to reach their full potential and help them succeed in their studies. The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and challenging lessons in A Level Politics and GCSE Citizenship. You will monitor and support student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their academic goals. Responsibilities also include assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress in accordance with school policies, while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates students and fosters a love for the subject. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources for Politics and Citizenship, participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events, and support extracurricular activities or clubs related to the subject area. This is a permanent, part-time position working 14.8 hours per week (0.40 FTE) at our Farnham College Campus. What do you need to be successful as a Politics & Citizenship Teacher at Activate Learning? The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge in Politics and Citizenship, with the ability to teach up to A Level. They will possess excellent classroom management skills, along with the ability to engage and inspire students. A commitment to raising achievement and supporting the holistic development of students is essential, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team. Desirably, the candidate will have experience teaching A Level Politics and/or GCSE Citizenship, knowledge of current educational developments and best practices, and experience in delivering extracurricular activities or enrichment opportunities.
