Job Title: Pastoral/Family Support Worker
Location: Padiham, Burnley
Contract Type: Full-time - Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Start Date: Monday 2nd June 2025
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one and group support for children with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
2. Act as a key link between school and families to promote positive relationships and engagement.
3. Work proactively with parents/carers to identify needs and signpost to external agencies when appropriate.
4. Develop and implement individual support plans and contribute to multi-agency meetings.
5. Support the school’s safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all children.
6. Deliver interventions focused on attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being.

1. Experience working with children and families in a school, social care, or community setting.
2. A warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
4. A good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and early help frameworks.
5. Resilience, flexibility, and a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Desirable:
1. Relevant qualifications (e.g. in child development, social work, counselling, or family support).
2. Knowledge of local support services and multi-agency working.
