In this dynamic role, you will engage with our community, fostering productive partnerships with external organisations to open
doors to employment opportunities. You will spearhead the delivery of impactful employment and skills programs, from recruitment
events and volunteering to work placements and new initiatives with local and national employers and training partners.
This is a permanent position with a base location of our St. Helens office, working in our communities engaging with customers
across Warrington, St. Helens, and Liverpool. The role will involve being in the community 2-3 days a week and but will allow for
some home working. A full driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential.
Responsibilities:
* Promote and champion the issues of worklessness and low pay agendas across Torus, with external stakeholders and within our
communities.
* Develop engagement strategies with local and national employers and other agencies to develop new opportunities including
matching local skills gaps with needs of tenants and residents.
* Effectively manage caseloads. working directly with tenants, residents and apprentices providing IAG, assessing skills and
experience, facilitating training and matching to local vacancies.
* Complete individual skills assessments with individuals to identify training needs and potential career paths
* Create and implement bespoke wrap around support to participants, developing Action and Support Plans, prioritising and
co-ordinating interventions and activities
* Maximise opportunities for residents to work towards becoming economically active including the recruitment, support and
development of volunteering and work placement opportunities. Ensuring all paperwork is in place so placements are safe, and of
value to both parties.
* Support income maximisation of tenants by providing better off calculations, referring to money and welfare advice and
supporting people to access well paid careers.
* Keep abreast of and utilise the range of opportunities provided by external agencies to maximise employment and career
progression opportunities for residents.
* Assist with the coordination and delivery of projects delivered by external partners.
* Effectively record, market, monitor and evaluate all activity to ensure high levels of participation, needs are met and value
for money is achieved.
* Complete monthly reports contributing to the Employment & Skills evaluation processes and reports.
* Accurately maintain documentation and data using a case management system, ensuring the team complies with all performance
monitoring, maintaining records.
* Contribute to establishing and maintaining effective procedures to guarantee project delivery within cost, time and quality
parameters
* Operate a Value for Money approach to identify training and provision to support budget and performance management.
* Deliver against externally funded contracts, keeping up to date with, and understand, relevant regulations and contract
complaint details including branding, eligibility criteria and evidence requirements from the funder.
* Deputise for the Employment and Skills Manager in terms of attendance at meetings.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation to deliver social impact activities which deliver against agreed
outputs linked to funding and strategic priorities.
* Work with the Communications Team to identify and develop good news stories and case studies for use by Torus Foundation. Use
social media in an appropriate way to promote activities, opportunities and events that benefit customers
* Contribute to measuring social value using HACT and other relevant measurement tools.
* Work to standards of performance set by the Employment and Skills Manager and work to strict targets and deadlines
* Achieve target levels of outputs agreed, high levels of customer satisfaction and all relevant activities to have measurable
social impact.
* Share own knowledge, skills and professional updates with team members to support up-skilling and development within the team.
Skills & Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent qualification
* Knowledge and experience of delivering employment related information, advice and guidance, volunteering, and work placement
programmes
* Knowledge of regulations and compliance details for externally funded contracts
* Experience of engaging communities and partnership working, developing new and maintaining existing relationships
* Experience of holding caseload, recording, monitoring, and evaluating caseload records, outcomes and reporting on project
progress
* Knowledge and understanding of the Social Housing Sector
* Competent user of the digital and social media channels
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle for travel across Warrington, St. Helens, and Liverpool.
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a presentation and a competency-based interview.
