My client is an award-winning leading transport distributor with multiple operations in the UK. They have a fantastic opportunity to join the team at the Newark operation.
Supporting the logistics team who operate on a 24/7 basis – Delivering the daily plan in an efficient and timely manner whilst maintaining full compliance in line with the company's SLA.
Responsibilities
1. Implement a cost-effective and efficient delivery plan that enables targets to be met and customers to maintain production whilst dealing with any real-time event management.
2. Support with planning to ensure the planned number of drivers are all available to complete the delivery plan.
3. Deputise for Operations Clerk out of their core hours - Brief and debrief of drivers and ensure all drivers are ‘signed off’ for work and that all debrief information is captured and inputted into the company's tracking system.
4. Escalate any issues/discrepancies to plan to the planning team and service delivery manager.
5. Upkeep and update of all systems (Whiteboard, SB Client, QBis, Red Seals).
6. Adhere to the site’s adherence plan through Load List allocation, Special Bookings and daily management.
7. Management & communication of all 3rd Party bookings.
8. Follow the planned maintenance schedule to ensure the company’s fleet remains fully compliant whilst delivering operational efficiency, enabling all equipment to be maintained in the most cost-effective way and in line with the business O licence undertakings.
9. Daily management & control of all resources including agency, Internal Support, and Subcontractors to adhere and achieve trunking requirements.
10. Escalate any shortfall of resource to Transport Planner and Service Delivery Manager.
11. Ensure effective communication of any issues (driver misconduct, late deliveries, delays, incidents, accidents) to Internal & External Parties via agreed method (i.e., Email, Incident Reports).
12. Be the point of contact & escalation for out of hours Customer Service inquiries.
13. Control, compilation and distribution of Handover amongst peers.
14. Consistently strive to improve contract transport performance and into improvements.
15. Accountable for Daily management information - Forecasts, Daily Forecast Tracker & escalation of no forecast or ‘exceptional’ forecasts.
16. Support the Fleet Admin out of core hours with the daily management, update and distribution of Washout List and Register.
17. Recording and actioning of defects or breakdowns in absence of Fleet Admin.
18. Deputise in absence of Transport Planner.
Experience
1. Understanding of vehicle compliance.
2. History of managing supplier relationships.
3. Good general proactive communicator.
4. Financial awareness.
5. Vehicle planning experience.
6. Working in a challenging office environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a CPC qualification (desirable).
