Location: We have an opportunity for a Recycler Assistant to join our customer Field Services department at Yorkshire Water, covering the Yorkshire region. Successful applicants need to live within a 30-minute commute from our Lower Brighouse wastewater treatment works and must have a full valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.
Working hours: This is a permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week, with rotational work patterns to cover 24/7 operations. Once fully trained, participation in an emergency call out rota is required, therefore flexibility is essential.
What we do: We ensure that over 5.4 million people living in the region have clean and safe drinking water and that their wastewater is managed effectively. We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to maintain Yorkshire’s water resources.
Where you fit in: As a Recycler Assistant, you will assist the Recycler Technician in operating a recycler safely and optimally, responding to blockage reports from the sewer network and providing high standards of customer interaction. You will support with blockage response times and work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and contracted partners to resolve operational issues.
You will be required to support data collation for evidence capturing and ensure compliance with Health and Safety practices. Financial awareness is needed when making business decisions to promote cost-effective resolutions. This role requires working in confined spaces, and candidates must pass strict medical criteria including BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests.
What skills, experience and training you will need:
* A full valid EU driving licence (no more than 6 points)
* A strong Health & Safety background
* Ability to diagnose issues and find faults
* Competency in IT systems
* Proactive problem-solving skills
* Commitment to ongoing personal development
* Good interpersonal skills
* Drainage background is beneficial
