Avara Foods is looking for a highly competent, detail-oriented, and motivated Management Accountant to join our Finance Team on a fixed-term contract until June 2026, at our site in Scropton, Derbyshire.
About the Role:
This is an office-based role, so you'll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic food production business providing accurate and meaningful financial reporting and analysis. As a Management Accountant, you'll be working Monday - Wednesday 08:00 - 17:00. (Working days negotiable)
What will you be doing as a Management Accountant at Avara?
As a Management Accountant, you'll assist the Finance Lead with financial reporting and analysis to aid the management and development of the site and turkey business unit.
What will your key responsibilities as Management Accountant include?
* Preparing accurate weekly management accounts including sales, stocks, overheads, and KPIs.
* Keeping up-to-date records of internal goods transfers between sites and stock movement reconciliation.
* Providing analysis of direct and indirect costs, weekly to monthly.
* Assisting the Finance Lead in the preparation of monthly S&OP forecasts and budgeting.
* Maintaining site utility and repair costs, working closely with production and engineering teams to measure expenditure.
* Creating ledger postings ensuring accuracy and precision.
What you'll need to be successful:
* Full or Part Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, etc).
* Previous work experience in a reporting and analytical capacity.
* Good ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
* IT literacy with moderate Excel skills (Pivot tables and look-ups).
* The ability to apply accounting theory in an appropriate business context.
