PSV / Bus Shift Engineer
Location: Oxford
Pay: £22.15/hr (Mon-Fri) | £25.47/hr (Weekends)
⏳ Hours: 40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern
Shifts: 05:00-15:30 & 13:30-00:00 | Weekend work required (1 in 3)

Role Overview:
The PSV / Bus Shift Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of public service vehicles (PSVs), ensuring compliance with DVSA, Department of Transport & company standards. The role involves diagnosing faults, carrying out inspections, and ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Perform inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on PSVs (buses, vans, coaches)
✔ Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
✔ Ensure all work meets safety and legal standards
✔ Maintain accurate records and documentation
✔ Road-test vehicles (if licence permits)
✔ Work in compliance with Health & Safety policies
✔ Keep up to date with technical developments and industry regulations
Requirements:
✅ Essential:
Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience working on PSVs or HGVs
Full UK driving licence
Own hand tools
✅ Desirable:
PCV Licence (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with vehicle electrics and diagnostics
Knowledge of bus bodywork repairs
Laptop diagnostics experience
