About the job
Salary: £33,945 - £36,648 a year
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Permanent
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and victims of crime? Do you believe in the power of restorative justice? We’re looking for someone with a unique perspective, dedicated to supporting both victims and offenders, particularly children and young people who’ve found themselves on the wrong side of the law.
You’ll be our go-to person for ensuring a victim-centered approach in every aspect of our work, especially when implementing Restorative Justice measures. Your role will involve shaping and developing Restorative Justice principles, creating meaningful ways for participants to engage, and making sure our practices are consistent with the Victims’ Charter and the Codes of Practice for Victims of Crime in England and Wales.
You’re someone who thrives on building strong relationships. Whether it's working closely with local stakeholders—like the Police, victim support agencies, and other partners—or developing ties that help advocate for the needs of victims, your ability to connect and collaborate will be key to your success.
In addition, you’ll take the lead in recruiting, training, and managing a pool of volunteers. You’ll support them as they play a critical role in helping us contact and support victims, while also providing casework management, supervision, and annual appraisals to ensure they feel valued and motivated.
If you’re ready to make a real impact, develop restorative practices, and help advocate for victims’ needs, we’d love to hear from you!
Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About you
We are seeking dedicated professionals with a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and victims of crime. Ideal candidates will have experience working in roles involving multi-agency partnerships, delivering training, and assisting those impacted by crime. Strong report writing skills, the ability to develop effective procedures, and excellent organizational abilities are essential.
Applicants should demonstrate a solid understanding of the principles of Restorative Justice and the effects of crime on victims. You must be educated to A Level standard (or equivalent) with at least a Grade C in Maths and English.
Training or experience in restorative justice and risk assessments is desirable, but a willingness to undertake this training is also acceptable.
If you are committed to making a difference and are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, we encourage you to apply.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.

Application Process
Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
