Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer
Location: Northwest UK (Home Based)
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 Basic salary (experience dependent), on target earnings £75,000+
Company: Northern Based British Manufacturer, a world leading manufacturer of rotating equipment and mechanical components.
A global leader in rotating equipment with a multimillion turnover operating across the world. They manufacture products, systems, and solutions that enhance pump efficiency and reliability.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the UK Sales Manager, the successful candidate will:
1. Manage business activities throughout the Northwest of England and North Wales region.
2. Handle 70% strategic key account management of existing clients and 30% new business activity.
3. Engage in technical solution selling, requiring a mechanical engineering aptitude.
4. Conduct regular customer visits throughout the sales region.
5. Report all sales and quotation activity on a monthly basis.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will possess:
* External sales experience from an associated sector (mechanical seals, rotating equipment, pumps, valves, etc).
* A mechanical engineering background.
* Full knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical seals highly beneficial.
* Understanding of rotating equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, seals, etc).
* Strong strategic thinking and relationship management skills.
* Excellent communication skills across various levels.
* A proven track record of business-to-business sales.
* A dynamic “can do” attitude and enthusiasm for sales.
* An engineering qualification (advantageous but not essential).
* A mechanical engineering apprenticeship (desirable).
* Eye for upselling/cross-selling opportunities.
