My client is a Birmingham based main contractor who specialise in Care homes, retirement villages, nursing homes and student accommodation. They work with clients from initial consultation right through to delivery to shape projects that meet the needs of their clients.
They are seeking a proactive Assistant Construction Planner to join their experienced team and work closely with the Contracts Managers. This opportunity is ideal for a Junior/Assistant with a few years of Construction experience as they have the environment to help you progress your knowledge and develop you into more senior positions.
You will be instrumental in developing, updating, and tracking construction schedules, while gaining practical experience in project coordination and site operations.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage construction schedules using tools like Primevera P6 and Microsoft Project.
2. Regularly update schedules to reflect project milestones and changes.
3. Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure schedule accuracy.
4. Monitor project timelines, identify potential delays, and report on progress.
5. Learn about construction processes, site logistics, and safety protocols.
6. Participate in site meetings and planning sessions to gain practical insights.
7. Communicate effectively with various teams to align project goals.
Requirements
1. Degree in: Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
3. Familiarity with or willingness to learn scheduling software.
4. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
5. Passion for construction and project planning.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
