Electrical Project Engineer - Food & FMCG - Manchester
I am currently recruiting an Electrical Project Engineer for a world-renowned global Food and FMCG client at their facility based in Manchester. They have a vast project portfolio and spend over £40m p/a on capital projects.
Projects include:
1. Factory extensions
2. New Packaging lines (Flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, labels, cartoners, palletisers, etc.)
3. New Production Lines & Equipment (Mixing Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Ovens, Chillers, CIP Systems)
4. New Automation Equipment
5. Factory Refurbishment
6. Continuous improvement projects
Key Responsibilities:
1. Capex control, prioritization, and delivery of end-to-end projects.
2. Proposing new projects and identifying areas for innovation and improvement.
3. Work closely with the Project Management Team and Factory Management to deliver projects efficiently.
4. Manage the delivery of various capital projects ensuring the complexity, cost, and time constraints are fully understood and managed.
5. Continually monitor progress to ensure meeting of specific deadlines.
6. Responsible for all stages of projects from development through to delivery, including URS creation, tendering and supplier selection, resource, time and cost management, control of contractors with CDM, contract management, FAT, SAT, and formal handback and project closure.
7. Support project development through engineering capability as part of full lifecycle project delivery in the capability function.
8. Ensure projects are delivered to a high quality of engineering and technical standard.
9. Flawless management of changes to the scope and schedule of the project.
10. Lead project update meetings, and document project status and issues.
The successful candidate:
1. Will have a Degree, HND, HNC, or NVQ in an engineering-related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Process, etc.).
2. Experience managing capital projects within a Food and FMCG environment.
3. Manage budget responsibility of at least £5m.
