Job summary The service is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in forensic psychiatry to work within the low secure female mental health service. The service currently works within a continuous care model with an eleven bedded inpatient ward and a small cohort of outpatients (up to 15). The inpatient service is a regional service providing secure care to adult women within the footprint of the West Yorkshire Secure Provider Collaborative. The community service provides outpatient follow up to Leeds service users only. Referrals are received from medium security for step down, prisons and acute services. The final program of activities will be worked out with the post holder on a ratio of 7.5 direct clinical care to 2.5 supporting professional activities. Provide risk assessment and management advice for colleagues in acute services. It is anticipated that the frequency of assessments would be about 1-2 per month. Provide excellent clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team to stabilise acute mental illness and manage risk. The female ward provides care from admission to discharge to the community although there are rehabilitation services available within the trust. Pathways to the community include discharge to the care of the forensic outreach team in Leeds and for some, referral to local community services within the wider West Yorkshire provider collaborative.
