Job Description
As an IT Business Analyst in Gas Trading Operations, you will play a pivotal role in delivering IT solutions that support the transition of trading and supply systems to a new ecosystem. You will collaborate with business and technical teams to design solutions that enhance operational efficiency and align with our strategic goals. Key Responsibilities
1. Translate business requirements into functionality and assess risks, feasibility, and business impacts of solution options.
2. Map and transform Gas Operations processes to the new ecosystem as part of the ETRM transformation from Aligne to Endur.
3. Design high-level IT solutions, ensuring they align with project scope and strategic objectives.
4. Configure Gas Ops systems and drive process improvements.
5. Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to identify opportunities for improvement.
6. Manage the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, including handover to the support team.
7. Provide training on business processes to colleagues and stakeholders.
8. Collaborate with IT delivery partners to ensure Agile delivery of requirements and solutions.
9. Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, developing trust and credibility.
10. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor to junior Business Analysts.
11. Drive innovation by proposing creative approaches to challenges and opportunities.
Qualifications
1. Experience: 5-15+ years of IT experience, with 5-10+ years as a Business Analyst.
2. Work mode: hybrid - minimum 3 days a week in the office.
3. Energy Trading Expertise: In-depth knowledge of UK and European gas markets, including balancing, scheduling, storage, transportation, pricing, and risk management.
4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in databases, SQL, Power BI, and hands-on experience with ETRM systems (Aligne, Endur).
5. Process Knowledge: Understanding of Transmission and Distribution System Operations, and Physical Gas Flow.
6. Trading Instruments: Familiarity with OTC transactions, exchange-traded futures, options, and their lifecycle.
7. Project Delivery: Proven experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles, with expertise in Agile methodologies.
8. Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a history of building effective relationships.
9. Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying informed about industry trends and energy trading developments.
