Vacancy 1: Based at Chorley Hospital, Mon to Fri 7.30am to 3.30pm (Full-time, 37.5 hours per week).
Vacancy 2: Based at Chorley Hospital, Mon to Fri 3.30pm to 7.30pm (Part-time, 20 hours per week).
Vacancy 3: Based at Royal Preston Hospital, Thurs & Fri 7.30am to 7.30pm (Part-time, 23 hours per week).

Our booking services Clerical officers are the first friendly faces our patients will see on reception when attending the imaging department, and your friendly and approachable manner will be key to providing a professional and courteous service to all visitors and staff.
Main duties of the job
You will be performing an ambassadorial role, representing the department and the Trust as a 'front of house' reception service. This includes meeting and greeting patients, supporting with appointment bookings, answering queries, and ensuring appointment letters are sent.
You will also have a variety of different admin tasks to complete, such as organising incoming and outgoing post, typing letters, filing reports, and entering data onto our Trust systems. Excellent communication skills will be essential, as you will be answering incoming telephone calls and liaising with other departments across the Trust as necessary.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Demonstrate an approachable, courteous, efficient appointment service to all health care professionals, patients, carers, relatives, and visitors.
* Maintain good communication skills when dealing with colleagues and patients.
* Constructively manage barriers to effective communication.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Respond to external and internal queries and refer to the appropriate person.
* Perform an ambassadorial role at the front of house reception service.
* Organise incoming and outgoing post.
* Type letters or other correspondence.
* File reports and results.
* Ensure any changes to patient demographic details are updated immediately.
* Maintain a high standard of patient care.
* Deal with any problems/queries in a timely manner.
* Escalate any major issues to the Supervisor/Manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
* Good standard of education
* IT qualification or related experience
* English language and Maths GCSE level C or equivalent
* ECDL or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working well as part of a team
* Aware of the importance of maintaining confidentiality
* Understanding of diversity and equality issues
* Previous experience of working on reception
* Previous experience in a busy appointments environment
* Knowledge of health and safety and security issues
