We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary between £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on your previous experience and qualifications.
Your normal working week will be Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a Procurement Assistant, you will provide support to our commercial team to ensure a continuous supply of materials. You will primarily be expected to:
* Assist the commercial team in sourcing, developing, and selecting new and existing product ranges.
* Input and raise purchase orders on our system.
* Assist senior management to identify and forecast stock requirements using our warehouse management software & Excel.
* Update data on various systems, generating and analysing reports to outline range performance.
* Assist the Procurement Manager in supplier meetings.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing suppliers.
* Maintain product files, accurately inputting new product information.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of the role and be happy to work independently while contributing to a positive team environment. This role best suits confident and self-motivated individuals for whom attention to detail and the determination to see tasks through to completion are core competencies. With the requirement to meet deadlines and deliver at pace, it is important that you have the organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise your workload. Although this job description outlines your main duties, flexibility and adaptability are key as this is a challenging role where no two days are the same.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Experience booking and managing delivery programmes.
* Strong analytical skills: researching, forecasting, and reporting, with a keen eye for detail.
* Communication: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information, ideas, and reports confidently.
* Strong IT and administration skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* A good working knowledge of Excel.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a buying/procurement environment.
* Construction/Building material experience would be beneficial but is certainly not a requirement. Full in-house training will be provided.
