Group Financial Controller- Permanent Location: Dorset Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week, Flexible working times Our client based in Dorest are looking to hire an experience Group Financial Controller, is this you ? Role Purpose: Join the senior finance leadership team to oversee all external financial reporting, statutory returns, and submissions. Lead the production of the group's statutory accounts, manage external audits, and guide the finance team through these processes. Serve as the technical accounting expert, responsible for consolidating and preparing monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Oversee fixed asset accounting and manage key financial systems, Adaptive Insights and A4K. Plus drive continuous improvement across the finance department. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the audit process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and stakeholder requirements. Oversee external audits, statutory accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT, and manage relationships with professional advisors. Prepare and consolidate the group's statutory accounts, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Ensure all financial reporting complies with accounting standards, corporate governance, and legal requirements. Identify and implement process improvements within the finance department. Maintain and develop financial systems, ensuring data integrity. Provide technical accounting advice and keep the team updated on best practices. Manage fixed asset accounting and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead, develop, and motivate the financial accounts team. Experience and Qualifications: Strong technical accounting experience with senior management roles in financial accounts. Expertise in group consolidation accounting, FRS102, fixed asset accounting, and statutory accounts. Experience in corporation tax, VAT, and regulatory returns is desirable. Proven track record in managing external audits and relationships with stakeholders. Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and managing finance teams. Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and financial systems management. Ability to analyze, interpret, and present information clearly. Excellent staff management and leadership skills.
