Join us as a Senior Finance Business Partner (Service Charges) at Thirteen Group!
Role Overview:
Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Senior Finance Business Partner (Service Charges) to join our Rent and Income Services Hub.
You’ll lead our dedicated and specialist service charge team, using your specialist knowledge and experience of service charge setting and accounting.
This is a key role for us, and you’ll be part of our rent and income management team of four. Reporting into Gemma, our Senior Rent and Income Services Manager, you’ll work alongside a tight-knit team of business partners who lead our rent setting, rent accounting and credit control teams.
This is a hybrid role, so you’ll work from our fantastic head office at Hudson Quay, Middlesbrough at least 1 day per week, with the rest of your week working from home. You’ll also be expected to attend in-person team meetings, as well as scheme visits and resident meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage our dedicated service charge team. You’ll also have line management responsibilities for this small team.
* Ensure we deliver an excellent service charge setting and accounting service to our customers.
* Set and apportion service charges in a compliant, accurate and transparent way.
* You’ll be our expert on service charges, so you’ll provide your expertise and guidance to the wider business.
* Continuously evolve and elevate your service charge function, practices and efficiencies. You’ll strive for full cost recovery and value for money for our customers.
About You:
* Experience of dealing with service charges in social housing or within private property management.
* Excellent understanding of service charge legislation and regulations in a social housing and/or a commercial setting, covering rented, leasehold and shared ownership properties.
* Preferably, you’ll have experience of people management and you’ll be committed to taking your team with you as the service evolves. If you’re looking for a step up, we’d also welcome your application.
* Excellent IT skills and a broad knowledge of Microsoft applications, as well as a range of other finance systems. We use Open Accounts and Blue Box, but you don’t need any prior knowledge.
* An appetite for innovation, a willingness to utilise technology to automate processes and you’ll drive efficiencies to build capacity.
* Collaborative, resilient, inspirational, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
