4110 - Head of Human Resources Business Partnering Service

As Head of the HR Business Partnering Service, you will be responsible for ensuring that Clinical Business Units (CBUs) and Corporate Directorates are provided with an effective, efficient and professional HR Business Partner service. You will lead the HRBP team and oversee delivery of the operational HR function including all aspects of employee relations. You will actively contribute to the development and implementation of HR and Organisational Development strategy, policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
1. Influence and drive business thinking and develop HR approaches that support operational business objectives, organisational design and resource plans.
2. Develop a thorough understanding of the CBUs and Corporate Directorates business plans and HR issues to ensure that their workforce requirements are identified, planned and delivered on a timely basis.
3. Provide support, leadership, management and direction to the operational HR function, ensuring that colleagues are adequately trained, informed, supervised and developed.
4. Ensure that a restorative, just and learning approach to employee relations is engendered throughout the Trust and that effective partnership relations are developed and maintained to ensure effective partnership working with trade union colleagues.
5. Support the management of all doctor cases using the Maintaining High Professional Standards (MHPS) procedure.
6. Act as the Trust's HR point of contact for all safeguarding issues.
7. Develop the management capability of line managers, coaching and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to handle people management responsibilities in line with the Trust's direction and values.
8. Ensure that appropriate workforce data and information is used to drive performance improvement strategies.

Person Specification

Experience
* Substantial generalist experience in HR at strategic or operational management level.
* Extensive experience of advising and supporting large scale change processes.
* Experience of managing employee relations in a large scale complex organisation.
* HR experience gained from a number of organisations and sectors including NHS.
* In-depth experience of HR specialisms (e.g. recruitment; medical staffing).
Qualifications
* Degree level or equivalent education.
* MCIPD (Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).
* Masters qualification in HR related subject or demonstrates knowledge and practice at Masters level through evidence of experience in strategic and high level operational HR management.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* FCIPD.
Knowledge and Awareness
* In-depth and up to date knowledge of employment law, particularly in context of employee relations.
* Depth and breadth of knowledge of generalist HR matters.
* In-depth knowledge of employee terms and conditions of employment.
* Knowledge of workforce planning.
* In-depth knowledge of Trust employment policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of Trust business plans and strategy.
* In depth knowledge of NHS pay, terms and conditions of service e.g. Agenda for Change and or Medical and Dental contracts.
* Organisational Development theory and practice.
