Role overview
As a Family Support Worker, you will be a vital part of the PACT Family team, offering crucial support to families visiting their
loved ones at HMP Nottingham. Your primary base will be in the prison's Visitor Centre and visits hall, where you will provide
guidance, advice, and support to families. The Visitor Centre services include play and children’s services, as well as a catering
service. You will facilitate prison visits, organise family days, and support the play service to ensure a positive experience for
visiting families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offer support, advice, and guidance to families visiting prisoners.
2. Facilitate prison visits and family days.
3. Support the play service within the Visitor Centre.
4. Work collaboratively with the PACT Family team.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
1. Experience working with families in challenging environments, ideally with offenders and/or their families.
2. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
3. The ability to contribute to the planning and development of PACT’s family work.
4. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
5. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
6. The ability to work effectively with and build partnerships with various agencies.
