We are looking for
a dedicated, forward thinking RN with experience in, and a passion for, caring for patients with melanoma and non melanoma skin cancer.
The Band 7 CNS will work closely with the existing team to align services across the Melanoma/Non Melanoma systemic anticancer treatment (SACT) pathway which will include responsibility for close monitoring and toxicity management of patients having SACT .
The role requires the post holder to work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team involved in the skin cancer care pathway in both the outpatient and inpatient setting in BHOC.

This is a secondment full-time position working Monday – Friday with the option of flexible working considered.
1. The post holder will work closely alongside the existing Melanoma team to align services across the melanoma / non melanoma SACT pathway including close monitoring and toxicity management of patients having SACT and providing support for those on the Radiotherapy.
2. Work as an integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team within the Trust and across the community. They will be expected to engage and lead discussions in multidisciplinary team meetings, acting as an advocate for the patients receiving SACT/ Radiotherapy treatment for Melanoma / Non Melanoma skin cancers.
3. Utilise skills of clinical expertise, leadership, education, and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, and their carer’s, who have been diagnosed with Melanoma / Non Melanoma skin cancers from the time the decision is made that a patient requires SACT/RT and throughout the subsequent care pathway.
4. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team in hospital and the community to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit, and research.
5. The post holder will be expected to engage with the wider workforce and implement, plan and deliver formal and informal education programmes for patient’s carers and all staff. The post holder will be expected to have complex discussions with patients and families regarding end of life are and be able to signpost patients to appropriate resources and liaise with palliative care agencies
