JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director / Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure that appropriate individual care is given to each guest, in accordance with the Care Plans. To document changes in guests’ condition.
To help guests with problems of mobility and other physical disabilities (e.g. incontinence), helping with the use of disability aids and caring for the same, where appropriate. To assess needs when changes in condition occur.
To monitor guests' nutritional and dietary requirements and record.
To monitor guests' conditions, and report any change to the G.P and relatives.
To administer, control and storage of drugs and medicines. To monitor and record drug refrigerator temperatures, and report any adverse temperature variances which may affect the efficacy of medication stored within to the Manager.
To promote communication with guests, relatives and other professionals.
To monitor the performance of Care Assistants, ensuring that all tasks are satisfactorily completed.
To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations. To report all accidents in handover.
To read and write reports, and to participate in staff and guests' meetings as appropriate.
To participate in training activities / course, as directed by senior staff.
To help care for guests who are terminally ill.
To undertake other duties, as necessary.
To promote a culture of innovation and can do.
To ensure the service provided is the best possible.
To hold regular QC meetings with all levels and all sectors of the staff.
To look beyond the role of Nurse, and appreciate that the role is one of a manager of people and the service provided.
To share and promote the vision of the business.
