Main duties of the job
The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Steriliser & Decontamination Services Maintenance Technician to be an active member of the Estates Department at County Hospital. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic individual, trained to HNC/HND level, who can work independently and as part of a team.
Duties include providing technical support to the Steriliser & Decontamination Services Estates Manager, and maintaining, testing, commissioning, and validating sterilisers, autoclaves, and washer/disinfectors (including Endoscope Disinfection machines) in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Health HTM. You will also provide support in other engineering disciplines to the Estates team.
Applicants need to have previous maintenance experience within steriliser and decontamination services, including relevant training/qualifications, and have a technical, engineering background with good computer skills. You will be stationed principally at the County Hospital site, working 5 days a week Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, but may be required to work at other sites belonging to or serviced by the UHNM NHS Trust. You will also be required to carry out on-call duties.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Knowledge of procedures for testing and maintenance of steriliser & decontamination services/equipment
* Previous specialist training within a Healthcare context
Experience
* Several years post-apprenticeship experience, familiar with all forms of Engineering, particularly control equipment.
* Experience working within steriliser & decontamination services
* Previous experience within a Health Service context

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year PA plus R&R premium
