Applications are invited for Locum Speciality Doctor in Transplant and MCS. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre based at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. This is open to candidates with a strong interest in Cardiac Surgery, Transplant and Retrieval Surgery. A wide exposure to the surgical treatment and management of ischaemic heart disease and valvular heart surgery would be anticipated. This is a fixed-term of 12 months. The main emphasis of the post is in NORS retrieval surgery and in addition, taking part in the active management of patients within ICU, HDU and ward area to improve patient consistency and quality of care. Working alongside Consultant Intensivists, Consultant Surgeons and nurse practitioners in the caring for patients in the critical care areas and the ward. This appointment opportunity is open to candidates with a strong interest in Transplant and Retrieval Surgery. It would be desirable that the post holder has experience in cardiothoracic DBD and DCD Heart and Lung retrieval surgery, TransMedics OCS, however, training will be given to the successful candidate. It is essential that the candidate has a strong background in cardiac surgery operating, post-operative cardiothoracic surgery critical care and ward post cardiac surgery management. The successful applicant will form an integral part of the Cardiothoracic Service multidisciplinary team responsible will be expected to contribute strongly to the development of the department, enhancing aspects such as multidisciplinary meetings and patient flow.
