Responsibilities:
* Take full responsibility of the site during the shift in terms of management of staff, production (Intake – Dispatch), quality targets, security, housekeeping, and hygiene.
* Ensure quality & food safety of products produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures.
* Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff through coaching/scheduled 1-2-1 meetings with SMART objectives.
* Monitor, measure, and report on production-related process performance and downtime, taking ownership for downtime root cause analysis.
* Ensure good communication is given either verbally or in writing to all members of staff.
* Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations during the shift and address all related matters.
* Utilize problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve problems.
* Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure effective communication tools for production handovers.
* Ensure training skills are met for current and future demands of the shifts and that career progression is mapped out for all employees.
* Take an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth.
* Continuously maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace while managing staff in daily/weekly cleaning regimes.
* Ensure that all employees take responsibility for using company resources effectively to ensure best operating costs.
* Make appropriate decisions while following the company’s organizational structure.
* Complete daily/weekly audits and follow through on actions.
* Maintain a high level of timekeeping and attendance.
You:
* This role is for someone dynamic, energetic, self-driven, results-oriented, and who has a positive “can do” outlook with a clear focus on deliverables. We are looking for a highly organized, forward-planning, logical, structured thinker who critically assesses his/her performance. Empathetic communication skills are essential.
* Able to communicate and motivate coherently – both verbally and in written media.
* Understand the principles of manufacturing and possess strong management skills. Strong leadership planning and organizational skills are essential, along with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools needed to complete projects and process improvements.
* Work experience: Minimum 3 years working in a high mass volume manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor or within an equivalent capacity. Ideally from a food manufacturing background.
* Able to work extended hours on occasions when required.
Other:
Mon – Fri shift pattern working a two-week rota (6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm).
