The Interim CTO will oversee all technological aspects of the company, including strategy, architecture, and execution. This role involves managing the Digital Development and Operations teams, co-managing the Product/Programme Management function with the Managing Director, and leading third-party development partners and vendors. £130 - £175 per hour Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and mentor the development, product, and digital operations teams. Oversee the technology budget, resource forecasting, and planning. Collaborate with the CEO to analyse technology trends and assist in strategic planning. Develop and manage the technology roadmap and ensure timely delivery of projects by internal and external teams. Oversee technology architecture, infrastructure, and digital operations. Ensure efficient, profitable, and secure use of technologies. Evaluate and implement new systems and infrastructure. Manage relationships with third-party vendors, focusing on cost and quality. Oversee quality assurance and security processes. Identify and implement new technologies for competitive advantage. Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors. Monitor KPIs and business systems to assess technical performance. Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards. Maintain timelines and quality for all technical projects. Stay updated on technology trends and developments. Attend weekly executive meetings to report on technology developments and risks. Manage relationships with key stakeholders across various departments (Editorial, Commercial, Licensing, Syndication, Data, Marketing, Finance). Ensure operational excellence and delivery. Maintain policies and procedures for the technology department. Requirements: Strong technical knowledge and leadership skills. A degree in Computing Science is beneficial. Proven technology leadership experience, especially in subscription-based businesses. Ability to operate at a fast pace while maintaining credibility with senior stakeholders. Track record of delivering well-engineered products to market and scaling them for large user bases. Strong project and product management experience. Experience with modern web and mobile technologies and cloud infrastructure. Knowledge of developing scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure platforms
