The primary role of the Lead Research and Technical Service Analytical Scientist, EIMEA in Arxada is to provide scientific expertise, testing, direction to the Home and Personal Care (HPC) R&D projects and EIMEA Professional Hygiene (PH) TS&D teams to deliver: On-time delivery and thorough scientific analytical experimentation to support both new product development projects and customer technical service requests associated with the development of new products or applications and the maintenance and development of business at growth accounts for HPC and PH. High quality analytical technical support and service to customers, both external and internal. Link to Global Analytical R&D team to provide input into method development, transfer of global methods to the Manchester lab, where appropriate, and to assist with the regional launch of R&D programs in in home care and personal care preservation, as well as professional disinfection. Design and execute analytical studies for new product development projects in HPC and PH, developing and validating new analytical methods that support the development of new products or expanded application areas. Design and execute analytical studies working with multiple customers in parallel, and provide support for both customer and internal technical queries requiring chemical analysis. Provide analytical technical guidance for the MCS Technical Regulatory team in support of product registrations and active substance support. Provide analytical expertise support (for methods and equipment) to the Wood Preservation R&D and TS&D teams based at Manchester. Be the regional analytical expert for HPC & PH, developing and validating analytical methods, including method transfers to Operations. Drive technical analytical excellence in key project initiatives by coordinating and connecting to global analytical R&D team members and experts to create a regional analytical hub of expertise. Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments. Monitor and organize service contracts for the equipment to ensure that it is maintained and serviced regularly, allowing work to be carried out safely and in a timely manner. Oversee consumable usage for budget purposes, and provide input for CAPEX requirements in the analytical chemistry space. Implement and manage continuous improvement programs for the HPC/ PH Analytical function, inclusive of workflow improvement, design of experiment, statistical analysis, data/quality results, root cause analysis, as well as technical documentation and reporting. Further create external influence in the professional and consumer disinfection industry by authoring trade articles, technical presentations, and participating in industry associations. Support the broader team in best safety practices, habits, and behaviors, encouraging others to work safely at all times. Perform all work in a safe manner in accordance with internal quality and COSHH regulations.
