A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Designer to join their fast growing team in Leeds.\n\nWith a strong reputation for delivering outstanding projects across sectors such as logistics, warehousing, retail, residential, and commercial, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse and exciting portfolio while advancing your career within a highly respected consultancy.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Senior Principal Designer, you will be responsible for managing CDM 2015 compliance and ensuring health and safety best practices are embedded in the design and construction phases. You'll work closely with clients, architects, and contractors, providing expert design risk management advice across a variety of large-scale projects.\n\nSenior Principal Designer Key Responsibilities\n\nFulfil Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.\nProvide expert guidance on design risk management and health and safety compliance.\nWork closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects meet the highest safety standards.\nPrepare and review pre-construction information, risk assessments, and construction phase plans.\nConduct site visits, audits, and inspections to monitor compliance and identify risk mitigation strategies.\nSupport and mentor junior team members, helping to develop and expand the consultancy's CDM services.\nMaintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities. \n\nThe Ideal Senior Principal Designer \n\n5+ years' experience in a Principal Designer or CDM Consultant role.\nNEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.\nMembership with APS (IMaPS or CMaPS) or a willingness to achieve accreditation.\nStrong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, health and safety standards, and building regulations.\nBackground in architecture, construction, engineering, or a related field is advantageous.\nProficiency in preparing CDM documentation and risk assessments.\nExcellent client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex safety concepts effectively.\nHighly organised, able to manage multiple projects across different sectors.
