The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit Team provides autonomous expert care to patients experiencing early pregnancy complications. The team of Specialist Nurses and Midwives offers a comprehensive service providing safe, effective, and patient-centered care which is up to date and evidence-based.
We are looking for Nurses/Midwives who are highly motivated and passionate about the service they provide.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Nurse/Midwife will provide expert care to those patients, partners, relatives, and carers who are experiencing complications in early pregnancy.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for Nurses/Midwives who are able to:
1. Provide excellent clinical care, including counselling and psychological support to patients and partners.
2. Assess, plan, and implement care pathways.
3. Build positive working relationships with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
4. Facilitate nurse/midwife-led clinics.
5. Offer telephone support/advice services.
6. Act as an advocate for patients and their partners.
7. Interpret ultrasound reports and plan appropriate care.
8. Provide clinical supervision and teaching of other health professionals.
9. Take part in the ongoing development of the service including audit.
10. Provide evidence of continuing professional development.
11. Keep up to date with changes in practice and current research.
Person Specification
1. Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration.
2. Mentorship course or equivalent experience.
3. Evidence of continuing professional development.
4. 3 years post-registration Nurse/Midwife experience within Women's health or Gynaecology at Band 5 or above.
5. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of current professional issues and research.
6. Ability to use all Midwifery and nursing skills and delegate as appropriate.
7. Understanding of the complications of early pregnancy and associated conditions.
8. Degree level learning or equivalent clinical experience.
9. Qualification in Counselling.
10. Ultrasound scanning qualification.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, pro rata.
