Role: Attendance officer
Contract: Full time / Long term
Pay: £90-£140 per day
Simply Education are currently looking for an attendance officer in Rochester, Medway. You’ll be expected to Liaise with pupils, parents, and school staff to both identify and deal with potential attendance issues daily. The school are looking for someone to enthusiastic and can hit the ground running.
- Help families to receive any benefits that they’re entitled to, including things like free school meals, transport, and clothing that can have an impact on school life.
- Make referrals to other organisations that might be able to help support a struggling children and families such as social services, health professionals, educational psychologists, or the careers service.
- Remind parents of their legal responsibilities in making sure their child is in education until 16 years of age and taking action as required.
- Handle educational arrangements for excluded pupils.
- Deal with administrative work like sending letters, as well as writing up both case notes and preparing court reports.
- Advise on child protection issues as well as prepare reports on children with special educational needs
These highly rewarding roles will include working with a range of different children, some of whom may have various special education needs. We are looking for nurturing individuals who are able to quickly build rapport with students to provide them with a safe learning experience. Successful candidates will need to be quick learners and be extremely adaptable and flexible to the many challenges that come with working with children with additional needs.

• Has experience working with special education needs children in some capacity.
• Previous experience as an attendance officer
• Has a desire to work within education.

• Has great communication and rapport building skills.
• Has a willingness to learn.
• Can manage behaviour effectively.
